I’ve run technology companies, led large-scale systems implementations for Fortune 100 companies, and experienced this industry up close for decades. I believe AI can do great for Arizona, our country, and our world. I’m also clear-eyed about what can happen if we get the policy wrong. Arizona needs a representative in the State House who understands the technology ecosystem from data center infrastructure to edge devices— not someone who’s playing catch-up to understand the complex systems that impact our communities and economy.”<h5>Pass strong Arizona data privacy protections</h5>Your data is your property. Companies must get your consent before collecting, using, or selling it. Period. Julie approaches data privacy as a property rights issue, and believes Arizona shouldn’t wait for Washington to act.<h5>Require human oversight of AI in government</h5>When it comes to decisions that affect Arizonans’ lives, like benefits eligibility, law enforcement, and education, there must be transparency and human accountability. This is even more true as state agencies and government contractors implement AI solutions in their processes. We can't allow artificial intelligence to go unchecked in decision-making that affects people’s rights. We must put Arizonans before algorithms. <h5>Protect children from harmful social media</h5>When a platform knowingly pushes harmful content to minors, exploits their engagement for profit, and undermines children's well-being, there must be real consequences and regulations that prevent future harm. Julie believes in requiring algorithm transparency from platforms and a mandate for real parental controls — not confusing checkbox settings where the platform always wins - tools that give parents real choice and authority over what their children see. <h5>Prepare Arizona's workforce for the AI Economy</h5>The technology revolution has accelerated the pace of change in every aspect of our lives, from how communities connect to how we do business. AI is increasing the rate of change, and the impact can already be felt -- job displacement is real and already underway. We are a nation of immigrants, and our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Honoring that legacy means leading with both compassion and justice. While we must maintain safe and orderly borders, enforcement should be smart, humane, and focused on genuine public safety threats, not families seeking safety or opportunity. Public safety matters, but so do civil rights, due process, and human dignity.There is a right way to manage immigration. Fear-based politics, family separations, and inhumane detention practices betray our values and weaken trust in our institutions. Every person, regardless of immigration status, deserves to be treated with respect, fairness, and equal protection under the law.We urgently need comprehensive immigration reform that modernizes our legal immigration system, addresses root causes of migration, strengthens border management through technology and coordination rather than cruelty, and creates a clear, fair, and achievable path to citizenship for long-term residents who contribute to our economy and communities.Enforcement agencies must operate with transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to constitutional standards. The Arizona State House must use every tool available to keep these rural hospitals open, because it’s truly a life-or-death situation.<h5>Expand preventive and primary care</h5>Preventive care costs far less than emergency care. Shifting Arizona's healthcare expenditure to expanded primary care access, mental health services, and preventive programs is a strategy to increase well-being for all Arizonans and reduce more expensive emergency healthcare costs.

I can trace the impact of investing in education back a generation. My father survived the Bataan Death March and spent more than three years as a prisoner of war. The GI Bill gave him the chance to go to college and become a physicist. My parents instilled in me a love of learning and the importance of high-quality education for all. Public investment in education changes trajectories across generations. I believe that with everything I have. Julie will fight for full, fair funding for our public schools, so that they can deliver the educational experiences, services, and programs that families in our community richly benefit from.<h5>Recruit, pay, and retain great teachers</h5>You can’t run a great school without great teachers. Arizona has one of the highest teacher vacancy rates in the country. Julie is driven to make teaching in Arizona a career worth building, with competitive compensation, benefits, and learning environments that are great for educators and their students. <h5>Prepare students for an AI-driven economy</h5>AI and technology are transforming every industry. Arizona’s public schools need the resources and curriculum to prepare students for careers that don’t exist yet. Julie believes that giving Arizona students a high-quality education to develop engaged citizens equipped for the future is the right strategy for thriving businesses and communities across our state.<h5>Require accountability for public education dollars</h5>Every dollar that leaves the public school system should require full transparency of purpose and educational outcomes. Arizona families deserve to know their tax dollars are being invested in high-quality learning experiences — wherever that spending occurs.

Water security isn’t an abstract policy issue for me — it’s about the future of the community where I raised my family and plan to grow old. Arizona’s water challenges are serious. They’re also solvable, if we have the political will and the practical knowledge to act.”<h5>Build on Arizona’s bipartisan Ag-to-Urban program</h5>The 2025 groundwater conservation law passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. It proves Arizona can protect its water supply and grow its housing stock at the same time. This model is one Julie believes we should push to expand and strengthen.<h5>Keep out-of-state corporations out of Arizona’s aquifers</h5>Local water belongs to local communities. Foreign and out-of-state corporations shouldn't pump Arizona’s finite groundwater to grow crops shipped overseas while Arizona families watch their wells run dry. <h5>Extend groundwater protections to rural Arizona</h5>The 1980 Groundwater Management Act protected Arizona cities, but there is a significant gap in protections for rural Arizona. Julie believes in locally-driven solutions that empower communities to protect their own water without one-size-fits-all mandates.<h5>Prevent another Rio Verde</h5>What happened to Rio Verde Foothills was both unacceptable and preventable. Better planning and coordination between communities and water providers, and stronger legal protections, must be formalized to ensure no community runs dry.<h5>Fight for Arizona’s share of the Colorado River</h5>The post-2026 Colorado River guidelines will shape Arizona’s water future. Arizona must be at the table with a strong, unified position that protects communities, industries, and our diverse natural resources.<h5>Invest in water innovation and supply</h5>There is no single solution to ensure Arizona's long-term water security. Investing in a variety of solutions, such as reclaimed water, aquifer recharge, desalination partnerships, and water recycling, is part of a multi-pronged approach to support future growth in our state. Arizona has led the nation in water innovation before. Julie's committed to making our state a leader others can learn from.
